OpenAI partners with Hacktron to find vulnerabilities in its own systems
OpenAI announced a partnership with Hacktron in which engineers and security researchers will jointly pick high-priority areas to test, with a focus on how OpenAI systems interact with third-party services, and will expand Hacktron’s access to frontier models through Daybreak Red.
OpenAI announced on November 6, 2026 (Singapore time) a partnership with Hacktron to find vulnerabilities in OpenAI’s systems.
According to OpenAI, its engineers and Hacktron’s security researchers will choose high-priority areas to test together, with a focus on how OpenAI systems interact with third-party services. As part of the partnership, OpenAI is expanding Hacktron’s access to frontier models through Daybreak Red.
OpenAI says it became familiar with Hacktron through its Security Bug Bounty program and was impressed by the impact of vulnerabilities its researchers discovered and disclosed. Hacktron builds AI agents for code review, penetration testing, and red teaming, and its research has examined vulnerabilities in how applications, cloud infrastructure, and identity systems interact.
OpenAI writes that as AI agents connect services in new ways, that combination of skills becomes more valuable, and working with Hacktron will help test those connections more deeply and strengthen defenses.
