Claude renames Max 20x to Ultra and drops the 5-hour limit for verified accounts
Anthropic renames Max 5x to Max ($100/mo) and Max 20x to Ultra ($200/mo); verified Ultra accounts lose the 5-hour session cap starting today, with weekly limits unchanged.

Claude’s official account announced a subscription rename and limit change on 30 October 2026 (31 October morning in Singapore).
Rename (same prices)
- Max 5x → Max (still $100/month)
- Max 20x → Ultra (still $200/month)
- Existing subscribers need to do nothing; migration is automatic.
Limits
- Verified Ultra accounts no longer have a 5-hour session limit, starting today for most existing subscribers.
- Newer accounts keep a temporary limit until verified (fraud/abuse prevention); email when removed.
- Weekly limits are unchanged.
